Follow up to practice with Adobe Premier Pro.

This movie is the follow up to the practise movie using Adobe Premier pro.

I composed the music using Logic Pro. I added transitions between the images and and added also some extra images to be consistent with the story and essence of the movie. I then exported the movie to adobe After Effects to add the text. All of the images were taken in and around my home town of Athlone.

Authoring principles and Design Practice two part brief.

Authering Principles Brief (PT 2)

The following images are examples of the layouts and design of professional Photography sites from around the world. I based my layout on these and many other similar sites. One significant aspect of all of the sites I had researched is the similarity in their layouts concentrating on the photographic elements other than typography. Type is of minimal though readable size and face. All interactivity was very user friendly and simple though elegant. I tried to achieve this with my site while aiming to have a balanced layout.

Below are the four pages of the website I had produced based on the requirements from the Authering Principles' module brief. I produced all of the elements for this project myself using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. The photographs were also taken be me. There is more information on the design elements of these pages in the Design Practice post as the design of the logo and layout of the site was part one of the two part brief in the combined Design Practice Module and Authoring Principles module briefs.

I found this to be the most challenging module of the first semester. The pace of the module was too fast and it was difficult to get to grips with the different languages ie. Java script, html and CSS and how they worked and where to place them. One thing I realized from this module is that I do not want to be code writer. It is a skill that one needs to tune in to early in life. This website is designed to fit with other high end Professional Photography sites on the net though remaining unique.

Integrated project design.

The following are a set of pages I produce for presentation purposes to explain how the user of the game would progress from one segment to the next or return to previous pages. Due to my lack of knowledge of the Irish language I had used some of the information Norah (team manager) had prepared. I based these layouts on the flowcharts (above) produced by frankie ( other member of the team ). The final flowchart was too broad for a 10 minute presentation. I just considered one route ( the story line) to explain the game. While making this I considered typeography suitable for children's reading. The use of colour creates familiarity and makes each lesson memorable. Every element was placed to add balance and consistency to assist in readability.

Below are some images from books used within the curriculum in national schools to assist in teaching Irish. I used these to act as a guide to fitting Spraoi into the curriculum to compete with other teaching aids. The advantage Spraoi would have would be that I is the only whiteboard application that would facilitate in the teaching of the Irish language.

Spraoi (integrated project) Pt1

I did not have much input into the requirements section of the brief and was assigned the task of designing the layout of how the application should look. My research led me to looking at how imagery and type was implemented into the teaching format and how learning books are produced. The following is an example of how important the consideration of typography is when creating anything for teaching children

Original Story Board

These are the storyboard pages of what we had set out for the first days shooting. The shoots were originally to be done at two locations on the morning and afternoon of the exhibition. All of this changed because of the torrential rain on that day. New locations were chosen and only one camera was used. With these changes implemented it set the team off synch and I did not have time to prepare a new storyboard.

Follow up on semester 1

The movies below are an example of the work I had done for the Screen Tools project.
These were the two main interviews for the documentary. We had recorded footage of interviews with participants of the Guerilla Exhibit and the two featured interviews with committee members of Guerilla Exhibition Group. We also recorded footage relevant to the topic of the documentary. I used the selected parts of the audio from the interviews and created a timeline. Then from the other footage, ( scenes from around Dublin, the facade of derelict buildings and shopfronts and footage of the exhibition.)  all being relevant to the documentary, I placed the segments that I thought suitable to what the interviewee was commenting on to run parallel with the audio.

Practice with premier pro with stills.

Theses images were a set of photos that I took so as to edit them in Adobe premier pro. These images had to be first saved and edited in photoshop to a specific size where all images were the same size and then imported into premier. The movement settings in premier were then scaled to size and directed on the x and y axis.
